Rosalinda Patino: A Journey to Revolutionize Feminine Health

Live Like Locals is proud to introduce Rosalinda Patino, the visionary founder of This Wombman, as one of our new hosts in Savannah, Georgia. Rosalinda’s dedication to transforming women’s health through natural solutions and her commitment to holistic wellness make her an inspiring addition to our community.

Early Life and Influences

Rosalinda Patino grew up with an insatiable curiosity and a rebellious spirit. Always determined to understand the world around her, she questioned traditional practices and sought out new experiences. This drive for knowledge and adventure took her to Morocco at the age of 18, where she volunteered as an English teacher for six months. In Morocco, she was introduced to the benefits of community steam baths (hammams) and the use of herbal remedies for skin, hair, and overall health.

Academic Achievements and Pandemic Challenges

In 2020, Rosalinda graduated with a B.S. in Neurobiology & Physiology from the University of Connecticut. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic marked a turning point in her life, prompting her to reevaluate her goals and aspirations. With a deepening interest in feminine care and a desire to understand motherhood, Rosalinda immersed herself in pregnancy literature and trained as a doula. This period of self-discovery and education led to the birth of This Wombman.

Global Learning and Herbal Medicine

Rosalinda’s commitment to herbal medicine and natural health practices took her on a global journey. She traveled to India to study Ayurveda, explored holistic health practices in Thailand, and in Greece, realized her preference for plant medicine over traditional medical careers. These diverse cultural experiences enriched her understanding of natural remedies and reinforced her commitment to sustainable health solutions.

Launching This Wombman

In 2020, Rosalinda launched This Wombman, focusing on organic feminine care products designed to optimize women’s health. Her products, such as Breast Oil and Womb Tea, are crafted with natural, mostly organic ingredients. Breast Oil, for example, is formulated to improve circulation and potentially reduce the risk of breast cancer, while Womb Tea helps alleviate painful menstruation and prevent fibroids or cysts. Rosalinda’s dedication to sustainability is evident in her choice of eco-friendly packaging, avoiding plastic and using biodegradable and recyclable materials instead.

Overcoming Challenges and Building Community

Rosalinda’s entrepreneurial journey was not without obstacles. Initially, she faced rejection at vendor fairs due to the nature of her business. However, her persistence paid off when she participated in the 912 Black Business Matters fair, which helped her establish meaningful relationships and a strong presence in the local entrepreneur community.

Doula Services and Education

In addition to her entrepreneurial endeavors, Rosalinda is a dedicated birth doula. She provides emotional, physical, and spiritual support to women during childbirth and offers placenta services. Rosalinda is passionate about education, both in learning and sharing her knowledge. She looks forward to creating spaces for workshops on feminine health and wellness, empowering women with the information and tools they need for optimal health.
