A Partnership in the Making

Chatham County Parks and Recreation has partnered with Live Like Locals Savannah to bring the area a series of family friendly events happening at County Parks. A unique perspective about these events is the fact that they will have a cultural component where attendees can learn about and engage with new cultures.

Our community will gain strength as we learn about one another. These events will serve as a bridge that will connect individuals of diverse backgrounds, helping people understand and appreciate each other’s customs, traditions and perspectives.

Movie Night Celebrating Dia de los Muertos

The first joint event is a Drive-in Movie night. On Saturday, November 4th, 300 families will have the pleasure of enjoying a night at the park. A family-friendly movie will be airing on a 40 foot movie screen. We’re celebrating Dia de los Muertos. Our Latin partner, Agenda Latina, along with other organizations will have ofrendas or offerings. Participants can learn more about how Mexican culture celebrates ancestry.

Mega Pop-up & Farmer’s Market

We’re taking over Tom Triplett Park.. the entire park! The front of the park will be a walk around the lake and learn about other cultures at the culture corners, meet lots of local artisans and makers, maybe shop a little, or eat lunch while listening to live music. The back of the park will become Pooler’s ONLY open air Farmer’s Market.

Walk Around the Lake

Picture yourself strolling along the picturesque walking trail in the front of Tom Triplett Park’s serene lake. This scenic promenade offers a perfect opportunity to unwind and connect with nature. To add to the ambiance, we’ve arranged for live music and entertainment from local artists. We encourage you to stop and rest a bit. Enjoy serenading you as you rack up the steps on your pedometer.

Kids Craft Station

For our younger attendees, we have a dedicated Kids Craft Station brimming with creativity. Children can indulge in hands-on activities, allowing their imaginations to run wild. From crafting to coloring, our station promises hours of fun and artistic expression. Nearby there will also be games for kids of all ages. Our goal is to create a station that is free, entertaining and that gets kids exercising their minds and their bodies.

Shop ‘til You Drop

If you have an eye for unique and handcrafted items, the market won’t disappoint. Discover one-of-a-kind jewelry, pottery, and artwork created by local artisans. These treasures make for thoughtful gifts or special keepsakes to adorn your home. We’re creating a consistent space for local small businesses to showcase their creativity and gain access to new customers without the expense of a brick and mortar storefront.

Farmer’s Market

While the front of the park offers entertainment and cultural immersion, the back of Tom Triplett Park transforms into a bustling Farmer’s Market. Explore the cornucopia of fresh, locally sourced produce, artisanal products, and handmade crafts. This is where the heart of the event truly lies, as you get to engage with the essence of Chatham County’s agricultural and creative community.

At the Farmer’s Market, you’ll find an array of farm-fresh fruits and vegetables that reflect the bounty of our region. From juicy peaches to crisp apples, and from heirloom tomatoes to organic greens, the market is a paradise for food enthusiasts and health-conscious shoppers. Sample some local honey or take home some freshly jams to liven up the breakfast table.

Mark your calendar for December 10th from 10AM – 4PM, and join us at Tom Triplett Park for an extraordinary Mega Pop-up and Farmer’s Market event. It’s a day to celebrate the vibrant spirit of Chatham County, where culture, nature, and community converge. Whether you’re seeking a leisurely walk by the lake, family-friendly activities, or an opportunity to support local artisans and farmers, this event promises something for everyone. Don’t miss this chance to be a part of an unforgettable experience right here in Pooler.

We’re grateful for the leadership and vision from Deputy Director of Chatham County Parks and Recreation, Antonio Murphy. Together we’re creating events that will bring families and communities together.
